These two images represent two flowers. Their petals are made of different fabrics for camouflage, generally used by military forces around the world. The aim of these clothes is to blur in a natural environment, using colors that match with the earth and the vegetation around.
Here there is the attempt to bring to the extreme this objective, by creating an element of the nature, a flower, using the same materials that want to look like it. Their mean becomes here finally explicit. Tools made to be useful in killing and destroying, try to merge with life. To be even more lethal, they try to imitate nature – life. These lifeless flowers represent the achievement of the intelligence behind them, which annuls itself in an artificial nature, ready to kill.
The title refers to the so called “War Machine”, meaning the combination of efforts, that create a sort of evolving organism, always growing, aimed at destroying the enemey.
These are flowers born without life, with the purpose of taking it away.
