This project is about the rebellions that took place in different countries in the Middle-East and North Africa and has the objective to show the terrible gap between our reality and what happens and happened there.
The emptiness around what happens and is reported in vague news, when at least some are given, leaves these events suspended in a sort of “white milk” of daily calm, without being aware at all of what these human beings are living and feeling everyday. Their image is lost, seen for an instang or never seen from our fortresses of comfort and democracy. Like meaningless fragments they sink in collective consciousness without appearing any more.
The title is a stupid word pun that relates the concept of weekend, the end of the working week and the chance to have time for leisure and holiday with the word sick and weak – end. Connecting this side of the real world and the pain that comes from it with the fun and amusement without thoughts that characterize our daily lives. This “Weak End” could also be the one of the rich and western human being, that sails through this sea of pain, too weak in his spirit or will to be intereseted in, andry or to just react.
The images in this work are taken from videos of the rebellions, wars and revolutions in countries like Lybia, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria and Egypt. They were taken from videos that depicted extreme violence, torture and desperation and that were a scream for help and protest, that gets lost unheard, in the buzz of the daily entertainments, of the small problems, of the democratic indifference.
